I'm a fairly new carer having only cared for my husband about 12 months. At first he was able to help with small jobs but after he had covid in December, he has gradually required more help. I have learnt patience, putting Maurice's needs before my own. At first I was resentful that I had to do everything while Maurice just sat in the chair and was waited on. For him, from belng very active to being unable to do anything, was very frustrating and he often feels useless. I very much appreciate when he goes on the Out and About days so I can do "nothing". I think we are actually growing closer together as we are sharing more of our thoughts and feelings.
