I am a Carer to my 46yo son after he had an MVA 16 years ago which resulted in a severe TBI.
We have celebrated every small victory and faced every problem head on. We celebrate every year – not because he had an accident – but that he survived despite all odds and is still with us.
Caring is VERY hard and often challenging and quite often not appreciated – but I will continue to support him for as long as I can (I am 70) and pray he will be ok when I can no longer do this. This is now my biggest fear, as I know it is for a lot of ageing parents. Hats off to all of my fellow Carers – you are doing a great job.
