Caring for my ex husband is my way to show him my appreciation for the support and freedom he gave me to pursue my career whilst he took on the role of looking after our young daughters. He was my rock and now it's my privilege to return that support and care as he navigates the challenges of a rare form of dementia called posterial cortical atrophy. This has led to partial blindness and some reduction in his cognitive capabilities. Whilst this is an awful disease we are facing it with humour and are determined to build happy memories for our beautuful daughters whilst sharing our journey with those close to us. Whilst it could be easy for this disease to tear us apart it has built an even stronger bond which is a beautiful feeling, especially when as a carer I feel at tines lonliness and isolation. Every little good thing we are grateful for and see each day together as a blessing.
