I really liked my job…a lot….but twice I have had to resign, stop work and care fulltime for my wife. Each time I had Doctors tell me that if I didn’t stop work, my wife’s health would deteriorate rapidly. All my routine changed overnight. Regular finances stopped too. Each time I was faced with, at times, insurmountable difficulties and important decisions to make re her health and care. Fortunately for us we are a praying couple and each time with God’s help we got through and came back home to rest and recuperate. Our local Church members have helped too. Now my wife has early Dementia and constantly talks about her childhood and long lost pets. She may have lost some of her abilities and struggles each day with her health, but fortunately she has not lost her sense of humour. We laugh a lot ….. and that helps each day plus sharing dozens of precious memories from years gone by.
