Couch Confessions – The fingerprints of grief
Join The Carers Couch, guest speakers and carers as we break down care giving taboos. This is the 2nd event of our 3 Carers Week sessions.
"Grief is as unique as a fingerprint."
That's the way Linda Espie, who works as a counsellor, psychotherapist and an art therapist succinctly captures the individual nature of loss and bereavement.
Linda has worked in the area of sudden, unexpected and traumatic bereavement for 38 years and has spent the last 10 years working in palliative care, working with individuals, couples and families.
Linda, who has published a number of books on grief including her latest publication *Grief, A Pilgrimage* says "No two people grieve the same so it’s important not to judge how an individual expresses their grief."
Linda will be joined by bereaved carer Emma Madsen and, together, they will discuss ways to prepare for loss, and to acknowledge it when it occurs and ways to accept and live with the process of grieving.
